THE PENDULUM SWINGS

Circa 1968, we began to be bombarded by liberal propaganda, not only by the biased news media, but even by some TV series. To say that I was thoroughly fed-up with liberalism by the Seventies, is putting it mildly. So you can imagine how I felt throughout the Eighties, the Nineties, the Aughts, and the Teens.

Fortunately, my parents, who had a far greater historical perspective than I, including the Twenties, Thirties, Forties, and Fifties, informed me that politics function like a pendulum, swinging from one extreme to the other, and reassured me, "Don't worry, Honey; it will swing back the other way. It always does."

Unfortunately, my parents did not live to see it swing back, and eventually joined me in despair. But, from all of this, I have learned that the longer it takes for the pendulum to swing back, the more extreme will be its swing. Thus, liberals should not be so shocked at our current conservative rebound. It was long overdue to swing to the right.
